Your Clear and Simple Path to Launching Operations

Project Submission & Initial Approval

Begin by submitting your project proposal and required documents to our team. We will conduct an initial assessment and work with you to ensure your project aligns with the zone's objectives, leading to an initial agreement with GSEZ.

Official Registration & Licensing

Once your project is approved, our One-Stop-Shop team will guide you through the official registration process. This includes facilitating the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and completing your company's registration and licensing with the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC). We handle the coordination, you get the license.

Lease Agreement & Handover

With your licenses secured, you will sign the official land Lease or Sub-Lease Agreement with the GSEZ. Upon completion of the initial payment, we will officially hand over your plot of land or pre-built facility, giving you the green light to begin construction or operations.

Business Licenses

To establish any industries in the GSEZ, first of all, any unit investors shall apply for commitment for allotment of land to the GSEZ Developer where they would like to invest.


After obtaining a letter of commitment for allotment of land issued by GSEZA, all unit investors shall complete investment registration through GSEZA One-Stop Shop Center (OSSC)

Step 1: Consultation & Choosing Your Setup

The first step is to select the right legal structure and license type for your business activities. Our team can help you determine the best fit.

Choose Your Company Type:

New Company Formation (FZE/FZCO) or Branch of a Foreign/Local Company.

Select Your License Type:
  • Trading License: For businesses involved in import, export, distribution, and storage of specific products.
  • Industrial License: For manufacturing, processing, and assembly of goods.
  • Service License: For companies providing services such as consulting, logistics, and support.

Step 2: Application & Documentation

Once you have chosen your setup, you will submit a simple application form along with the required documents. Our One-Stop-Shop (OSS) center handles everything. 

Required Documents:
  • Completed Application Form
  • Other documents are needed?
    • Authorized Applicant’s Information
    • Investment Plan
    • Area of Land to be Allotted
    • Proposed Production Plan
    • Manpower Requirement

Process:
    • Submit all documents to the GSEZ Team.
    • Receive your initial approval.
    • Sign the lease agreement for your land, warehouse, or office.

Step 3: Receive Your License & Launch

After receiving the investment registration certificate issued by GSEZA with the registration number and date, any unit investors may go to the next steps such as the certificate of incorporation issued by the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration/Regional States Trade Bureau, Trade License issued, and Income Tax/VAT Registration Certificates issued by Oromia Regional State Revenues Bureau (ORRB) OSSC of GSEZ branch office accordingly, allowing you to begin operations immediately.

You will receive:
    • Your official GSEZ Business License
    • The signed Lease Agreement for your property
    • Company Registration Certificate

Begin Operations:
  • You can now apply for employee visas, open a corporate bank account, and import your goods and equipment. Our OSS team is here to assist with all of these final steps.
